Recent Memorable Trips:
May 2010. Spent a few days in Beijing, China before sailing aboard the Seabourn Pride to Hong Kong, stopping in Shanghai for the Shanghai World Expo along the way. I had visited Beijing and Shanghai several years ago and my huge take away from this cruise was the dramatic growth and changes that have taken place in both cities. Hong Kong has always been a vibrant, exciting city (to me like New York) but Beijing and Shanghai are now power cities with wonderful restaurants, shopping, hotel accommodations and nightlife. The bicycles that were the main mode of transportation for the residents have now given way to traffic jams and high rises.

South Africa and Zambia. This was a trip of a life-time. We loved Capetown and safaris at Singita Boulders, and Royal Malewane. Great animal viewing as well as fabulous food and service at both camps. It was interesting to compare the differences between a Safari in East Africa and a South Africa Safari. Both have their own unique appeal.

A few years ago, for a special birthday, we sailed on the Paul Gaugin from Fiji to the Cook Islands, then on the Society Islands and to Tahiti. The Tahitian Islands are one of the most beautiful vacation destinations on earth. The waters in Papeete are crystal clear and the mountains in the background make it even more spectacular, and romantic.

I fell in love with India when I escorted a group on a pre-cruise tour in Northern India before boarding the Silversea Whisper sailing from Mumbai India to Dubai. In India we spent a few days in Delhi, before traveling to Agra where we visited the magnificent Taj Mahal and from Agra, drove to Jaipur, known as the Pink City. There was a festival in progress so it was a very happy and colorful time to be there. Finally, we flew from Jaipur to Udaipur which is a gorgeous and serene area to end an India trip. We flew to Mumbai and after a day’s tour boarded the Silver Whisper ship and sailed to Dubai. During that trip we took a day trip to Abu Dhabi and had lunch at the magnificent Emirates Palace (now famous for its bejeweled Xmas tree).
