A letter from one of our wonderful clients after our agent, Debra Mitchell was able to confirm a "Penthouse" upgrade on NCL.

Dear Debra: It was FABULOUS! The upgrade to the Penthouse was totally worth it! Our concierge got us to the front of every line and the best seating at shows. The room was terrific. We enjoyed our champagne and flowers and having our butler bring us a gourmet snack to our room every afternoon at 5pm (chocolate covered strawberries one night, canapés another, cheese, tapenade and crackers another). The food, service and entertainment were excellent. Anytime we ever needed anything, we just called our concierge or butler and it was done. Our deck on the front of the ship was awesome. It gave us spectacular views and a front row seat. Our cabin was right underneath the captain's bridge! The deck off of our room was huge--large enough for two lounge chairs and a table (with still a lot of room to maneuver). The best room we've ever had on a cruise ship! Spacious, beautiful, colorful. Nice art on the walls. Comfortable bed. Very nice bathroom. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Lavazzo coffee maker and mini-bar in the room. We never even bothered to go to the pool area because we had the best seats of all on our private deck. The room was so welcoming, we spent a lot of time there reading and relaxing with our terrific quiet view all to ourselves and ordering room service. All of the restaurants on the ship were great. We didn't even have a chance to try them all because there were so many to choose from. Everything was delicious! And we are pretty picky about service and quality. On the 7th deck they have a terrific promenade for walkers like myself that goes around the entire perimeter of the ship. 4 laps equals 1.4 miles. We also liked the gym and spa. Very classy. We enjoyed the freestyle nature of the cruise. We probably would not have enjoyed it as much if we had not had the special VIP treatment, I imagine. Norwegian does appeal to the masses so there were ALL kinds of people on the ship. It is definitely NOT like a Celebrity or Seabourn but certainly a step up from Carnival. Dear Kay & Maxine: You outdid yourselves

Dear Kay and Maxine, You outdid yourselves this time. This trip was like something out of the movies: people waiting on us hand and foot, laundry done, delicious meals served in the most beautiful settings, gorgeous animals everywhere, private planes to whisk us from here to there. I have been on many wonderful trips, thanks to you two (and let's not forget the guy who pays), but this is by far the most memorable. To have elephants drinking from your splash pool and eating three feet from your all glass bathroom (a bit intimidating, especially when you think that elephant might be smart enough to operate that lever handle), to have monkeys playing "monkey see, monkey do" on your porch, to see baby leopards eating the kill their mother has brought to them - you can't see that in Paris or London. Travel in Africa is unique, amazing, and beautiful beyond compare. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. Linda and Nathan
