Just back from South Africa!
I've always wanted to go to South Africa, because of its diversity...Cape town, it's wine country, safaris in fabulous game camps...the big five animals..
In March 2008, my husband Don and I traveled with three other couples on a two week unforgettable adventure to South Africa and Zambia.
The experience was incredible...we loved Cape town and the fabulous food and African wines, but seeing the Big Five up close...staying in fabulous game camps...I'm ready to go back tomorrow!
We ended the trip by going to Zambia to visit Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The more adventuresome of us viewed the falls by microlight.
Following is a letter from Linda and Nathan Franzblau, from Jacksonville, Florida, one of the couples on our trip. This is their view of the trip:
"Dear Kay and Maxine,
You out did yourselves this time. This trip was like something out of the movies: people waiting on us hand and foot, laundry done, delicious meals served in the most beautiful settings, gorgeous animals everywhere, private planes to whisk us from here to there. I have been on many wonderful trips, thanks to you two (and let's not forget the guy who pays), but this is by far the most memorable. To have elephants drinking from your splash pool and eating three feet from your all glass bathroom (a bit intimidating, especially when you think that elephant might be smart enough to operate that lever handle), to have monkeys playing "monkey see, monkey do" on your porch, to see baby leopards eating the kill their mother has brought to them - you can't see that in Paris or London. Travel in Africa is unique, amazing, and beautiful beyond compare. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything.
